There are a lot of Hollywood films being remade in Bollywood these days. Some of them hit the blocks while others die a silent death. The latest remake that has caught our attention is of the romantic drama film, The Fault In Our Stars, which is based on the popular novel by John Green. After too many rumours doing rounds on the internet, finally have some clarity on this remake.
According to the latest reports in a popular daily, the film will mark the directorial debut of casting director, Mukesh Chhabra, who was the one to introduce Sushant Singh Rajput to the film industry. While SSR has been confirmed as the lead, makers are yet to finalise an actress opposite Sushant.
A source close to the makers revealed to the daily, “Mukesh was the one who introduced Sushant to Abhishek Kapoor for Kai Po Che! He had always wanted to work with him and felt he would be perfect for this film. He is currently on the lookout for his leading lady. Though inspired by the Hollywood film, the script will be adapted to Indian sensibilities.”
On the other hand, when Mukesh was asked about the film, he confirmed, “Yes, I am on board for The Fault in Our Stars’ remake. I’m working on the script at the moment. Sushant is the leading man and we are still in the process of casting the heroine.”
