Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal’s comedy movie “Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi” has been released. It is clear from the name of the film ‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’ that this movie is a story of love and controversy between a Patel and a Punjabi family. The film’s director, director Sanjay Chhel has returned with this film after a long time. As a Director before, he has directed films such as Mughal-E-Azam, which has become beautiful and accepted.

Story :

In the film, Hansmukh Patel (Paresh Rawal) lives in a Gujarati society with his mother, elder daughter and younger daughter, Pooja Patel (Payal Ghosh). After the death of his wife, he keeps the daughters alone and bind them in many rules and laws. Even he encourages the Society to protect his Gujarati culture, even in the society, besides the Gujaratis, no one likes to have any other than the Gujaratis. Twist comes in the story when the house in front of her house is bought by the secondhand car dealer, Guggi Tandon (Rishi Kapoor), and comes there with her wife, father Prem Tandon (Prem Chopra) and son Monti (Veer Das). On one side there is Hansmukh’s family full of  culture, whereas on the other hand, Guggi’s family is fully-blown and open-natured.

Hansmukh asks his daughter to be saved from them, but Monty and Pooja are in love with each other at first sight, in the meantime, during the engagement of the elder sister Pooja, something happens in the Tandon family that the engagement breaks down. Because of which Hansmukh becomes even more angry. After this, Guggi and Monty are trying to improve their mistake, now, the love of Monty and Pooja can be transformed into marriage, you will know it only by watching the film.

Star Performances :

The film’s direction is good, as well as the act of Rishi Kapoor is very good, Rishi Kapoor is a Punjabi  guy and it is very fun to see him as Guggi’s character. Paresh Rawal has played his Gujarati character in an intuitive manner. The dialogues of Rishi and Paresh Rawal are also very interesting in the film. Prem Chopra has done a great job as Rishi Kapoor’s father. While Veer Das’s work is fine, Payal Ghosh is also fit in her role.

Last Words :

After watching the movie trailer, it seemed that the film would be fine, but the story of the whole film was very lively and a lot of work should have been done at the script level. Casting of the movie is great but the film looks weak due to the screenplay. The fable of the story between Gujarati and Punjabi families could have been very good. The music of the film has not been hit before the release which could be repaired.
