Story:

Tiger (Salman Khan) is one of the best undercover agents Indian intelligence agency, RAW, has trained. He takes up operations that nobody else dared to. During one such operation, he met Pakistani agent Zoya (Katrina Kaif), but it turned out to be more complicated than they anticipated it to be. Finally, they went incognito in one of the European nations totally aware of the fact that they’ll have to return whenever their countries need them.

Well, that time has come, because a group of Indian nurses has been kidnapped by the international terrorist organisation ISIS. And who could be better than Tiger to spearhead a rescue operation?

Tiger Zinda Hai gives the runaway RAW agent (played by Khan) a chance to get back to his earlier life. It has been eight years since he has been out of action and he is definitely tired of a quiet life in Austria. Needless to say that abduction of nurses in Ikrit is the chance our 45-year-old former agent was waiting for.

Star Performance:

Salman Khan, undoubtedly, is the centrifugal force of the film, never losing a single opportunity to throw around his Hulk-like image and own the screen. It’s his film totally, and he aces his part comfortably. On the other hand, Katrina Kaif, in a rather straight-faced role, doesn’t have much to do other than being a part of the proceedings. It’s also great to see Paresh Rawal back with Salman Khan on screen and his character makes movie more intresting, and the rest of the supporting cast including Angad Bedi and Kumud Mishra — who have a scene to score each.

Music & Direction:

The change of director has done well for the film as Tiger Zinda Hai seems more stylish than the original Ek Tha Tiger (2012). The first film was directed by Kabir Khan while Ali Abbas Zafar (Sultan) is at the helm this time.

Julius Packiam has done a mind-blowing job with the background score. Knowing the situations very well, Julius tries to paint a poetry with his music. Vishal-Shekhar’s songs are also used well in the story without disturbing the plot. Atif Aslam’s “Dil Diyan Gallan” is my fav track from the movie.

Last Words:

Go for Tiger Zinda Hai if you’re a fan of large-scale action entertainers, with probably just the right amount of logic. Salman Khan has well and truly arrived with a potential blockbuster that has enough to keep you pinned. Good fun while it lasts.
