Indian cricket team captain and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma may have problems in issuing marriage certificates because they did not send the information to the Indian embassy there after getting married in Italy. The Indian Embassy in Rome has given this reply under the Right to Information Act. Regarding registering the marriage, Anushka and Virat may legally remarriage there.
Under the law, if an Indian citizen marries outside the country then he is registered under the Foreign Marriage Act 1969. Filed RTI on December 13 in the Ministry of External Affairs An answer has been found that Virat and Anushka did not give their wedding information to the Indian Embassy in Rome.
If Virat and Anushka stay in Maharashtra after marriage, the marriage in the state under section 4 of Marriage Registration Act 1998 has to be registered here. It will now be seen whether the marriage abroad will be recognized in the state or they will have to sign some ceremonial wedding ceremonies in Maharashtra.
However, legal experts say that this is not a big issue. Rohit Jain, President of the Bar Association of Ambala, says that every state has different laws regarding marriage, and any country can register marriage by applying to witnesses in any state.
